Community Support

The Local Area Multicultural Partnership (LAMP) programme is an initiative of the Queensland Government.

The programme is a partnership strategy between State Government and Local Government to support community involvement in multicultural Queensland.

Residents represented in LAMP's Many Faces from Many Places 2004 Calendar

As part of this strategy, Multicultural Affairs Queensland (MAQ) from the Department of the Premier and Cabinet, funds the Multicultural Planning and Development Officer position with the Community Development unit of the Cairns Regional Council.

The LAMP programme is a statewide network, supported through the Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ).
